Who is arnicare for?
Pregnancy & Childbirth
Over 85% of women giving birth sustain some form of trauma resulting in discomfort due to the bruising, stretching and swelling of the muscles around the birth canal. Homeopathic Arnica is helpful for bruising, tissue-damage, shock, and soreness. If taken before or shortly after childbirth, the bruising and swelling may be reduced, and healing could take place more quickly and effectively.
After childbirth, it takes at least six weeks for your body to return to its non-pregnant state . During this time the trauma suffered during childbirth may affect women's general wellbeing by disrupting breast feeding, family life, and sexual relations.
Daryll Morrison, at Nelsons Homeopathic Pharmacy, has many customers asking about homeopathy during pregnancy: “Arnica is a very popular homeopathic remedy, particularly with expectant mums as it has been traditionally used to help ease the shock of the birth itself and afterwards to encourage internal healing- especially if the birth involved trauma. You should get advice from your doctor but we suggest taking homeopathic arnica pillules twice daily 3 days before the due date and 3 times daily for 3 days after the birth. Pregnancy also puts excess pressure on the legs. I recommend Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cooling Gel to cool and soothe aching, tired legs and swollen ankles”.
As with all medicines, if pregnant you should always consult your doctor or midwife.
Haemorrhoids
A staggering 48% of pregnant women suffer from haemorrhoids- whether it’s during the pregnancy or after the birth - that’s a huge 320,000 women a year, most of whom suffer in silence. But do not fear. Nelsons have recently re-launched their Haemorrhoid Relief Cream under the brand of H+care™, to naturally relieve the discomfort of haemorrhoids. There is also a new edition to the range - H+care Soothing Hygienic Wipes, which can be used in conjunction with the Cream. Use as a soft, moist alternative to toilet paper when skin is particularly sensitive and before the application of a haemorrhoid cream.
Iron deficiency
Iron deficiency can affect us all, but iron is particularly important for pregnant women. During pregnancy the demand for iron is increased, which may leave women feeling tired or pale. Spatone 100% natural liquid iron supplement has been clinically proven to help to prevent iron deficiency without the commonly experienced gastro-intestinal side effects associated with ingestion of iron tablets.
Emotional wellbeing
Pregnancy & Childbirth can be an emotional time, help balance your emotions with the Bach Original Flower Remedies or for particularly strenuous times, restore your inner calm with Rescue Remedy.
